CISF plays a crucial role in changing security scenario: Hansraj

Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said that the CISF officers should be ready to effectively meet emerging challenges posed by new forms of terrorism and insurgency.

He said CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) plays a crucial role in the changing security scenario of the country particularly in VIP security, disaster management, aviation security and government buildings security.

The minister said, in its Golden Jubilee year, the CISF is poised to reach greater heights in the security management area and is providing training to officers from countries like Sri Lanka. He said India is a peace loving country, but is always ready to counter any challenge to its democracy.

Gangaram Ahir was the Chief Guest at the passing out of the 32nd batch Assistant Commandants and 44th batch of Sub-Inspector/Executive at the National Industrial Security Academy. (NISA).

A total of 24 Asstt Commandants and 733 Sub- Inspectors have completed basic training successfully. Of them 151, are women.

During the course of training, officers were trained in a wide array of subjects like industrial security management, aviation security, disaster management, VIP security, weapon training, physical training, etc.,

CISF Director General Rajesh Ranjan in his address said that CISF, which is about one and a half lakh strong, has over the years evolved into a tech savvy force providing excellent training to its officers.

He said the government has recognised NISA as a Centre of Excellence in the field of industrial security management. NISA Director Anjana Sinha welcomed the guests.

The minister presented the Presidents medals and officers who have excelled in various activities during the training.

Later, a demonstration on Integrated Response to Crisis showcasing the prowess, strength, capabilities and responsiveness of the force during crises was demonstrated. (INN)
