Praja Kutami must be invited to form government, Guv told

Hyderabad: A day before the declaration of results for Telagnana Assembly election, leaders of Praja Kutami (People’s Front) called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Monday requesting him that the Front should be invited to form the government if they get required numbers.

Speaking to media persons after meeting the Governor, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Praja Kutami leaders briefed Narasimhan that Congress,

TDP, CPI and TJS had a pre-poll alliance and a common minimum agenda was also submitted to the Election Commission of India before polls.

Therefore, in view of an order of Supreme Court of India, the Praja Kutami should be given the first invitation to form the government.

TJS President Prof. M. Kodandaram said that the Praja Kutami was all set to win majority of seats. He said as per the recommendations of Sarkaria Commission, the parties having pre-poll alliance get the first right to form a new government if they have required numbers.

Telangana TDP President L. Ramana, CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy and other senior leaders of Praja Kutami were part of the delegation which met the Governor today. (INN)
