Second consecutive win for MANUU cricket team

Hyderabad: Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s cricket team registered second consecutive win in the First Azad Round Robin League Cricket Tournament 2018-19. MANUU team beat Noble Cricket Club (NCC) by 6 wickets.

The tournament is being organised by the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports (DPE, MANUU. According to Dr. Moahmmad Habeebullah, Assistant Director, DPE & Sports, in the second match of the tournament team NCC won the toss and elected to bat.

They scored 157 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 25 overs. Nadeem top scored with 39 runs, Yasin and Manikant supported well with 37 and 35 runs respectively. Leg Spinner Mohammed Rafeeq Khan took 3 wickets for 18 runs
for MANUU.

The host MANUU team won the match by scoring 160 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets in 20 overs. Mohammad Rafeeq Khan was the top scorer with 52 runs (6 x 1 and 4 x 8). Shahid and Anwar Chipped in with 37 and 26 runs respectively.

Feroz of NCC team scalped 3 wickets for 36 runs. Prof. Abul Kalam, Chairman, Sports Monitoring Committee, MANUU was also present during the match. MANUU team is coached by Mr. Mohammed Musharaf Khan.
