Railway Projects in AP: SCR GM meets AP Chief Secretary

Hyderabad, INN: South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta met Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.

Both of them along with concerned higher officials of AP state Govt and Railways discussed on the various Railway Projects in Andhra Pradesh State in detail. The SCR GM was thankful to the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for extending its co-operation to projects concerning development of rail network in Andhra Pradesh state.

Ravindra Gupta discussed the issue of land towards south side of Tirupati Railway station for the development of second entry.

He requested Chief Secretary to permit Railways to lay the road in land pertaining to State Government.

As indicated by the Chief Secretary, General Manager directed Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal Division to hold a meeting with Executive Officer, Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam on the issue.

The Chief Secretary desired that smaller groups need to be formed to identify the critical priority areas and take action for implementation of issues discussed during the meeting of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu with Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu on 04th April at Vijayawada.

The nomination of Officers to associate in these groups has been decided in the meeting. Chief Secretary indicated that, necessary action would be taken for completion of approach portion of the works at 7 Road Over Bridges where Railway works are completed and at 8 Road Over Bridges where works in Railway portion are in progress.

He also indicated that, action will be taken to take up the works at Level Crossing gates for construction of Road Over Bridges/Road Under Bridges which qualify the cost-sharing basis.

Tucker requested the SCR General Manager to introduce new trains to improve connectivity between Rayalaseema region and new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
