BRAOU organized Prof. G. Ram Reddy memorial Lecture

Hyderabad: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) and Prof. G. Ram Reddy memorial trust, Hyderabad jointly organized Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture at its campus as part of 90 th Birthday Celebrations of founder Vice-
Chancellor, BRAOU, Prof. G. Ram Reddy on Wednesday.

Prof. D.Narsimha Reddy, Former Dean, School of Social Sciences University of Hyderabad, delivered a keynote address on “Challenges of Higher Education”, he said there is too much glamour and less quality of education
however, higher education is very important for growing our economy higher education in India has many challenges and issues.

India’s gross enrolment rate (GER) is just 24% which is not good, GER is 6% below the world average and at least 50% lesser than other developed countries, low quality institutes all over the country is not good for higher education. Prof. A. Sudhakar, Director (Academic), Presided over the function.

Dr. G. Lamxa Reddy, Registrar In-charge, introduced the Speaker and the Programme welcomed the gathering. Earlier, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries lighted the lamp to mark the inauguration of the lecture.

The lecture was attended by Prof. G. Ram Reddy wife Smt. Prameela Ram Reddy and family members, Prof. G. Haragopal, Secretary, and Sri Ramalinga Reddy, Treasurer Prof. G. Ram Reddy Memorial Trust, Deans, Directors, Heads of Branches, Teaching and Non- Teaching Staff members of the University.

Earlier the Chief Guest Prof. D.Narsimha Reddy, Dr. G. Lamxa Reddy, Registrar, In-Charge, Prof. A. Sudhakar, Director (Academic), Prof.G. Haragopal, Prof. G. Ram Reddy, Family Members Directors, Deans, Heads of Branches Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members and representatives of Service Associations are offered floral tributes to the portrait of Prof. G. Ram Reddy in the administrative block.
