Telangana team visits Kerala to study NRI Policy

Hyderabad: In a move to expedite the formulation of Telangana State NRI policy, a team of senior officials visited Kerala on Tuesday.

The team, comprising of State Government’s Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and CM’s Principal Secretary S Narsing Rao, had meetings on Tuesday with Non-Resident Keralites Affairs department-NORKA Secretary Elangovan and NORKA Roots Organization’s CEO Harikrishna Namboodri.

The visiting team held detailed discussions on the measures taken for the welfare of the Keralites living in various countries and the policies being implemented in this regard. The visiting team also studied several policy papers in this matter.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao KCR had decided to support and help people from the Telangana State who migrated to several countries in search of jobs and are also facing several problems and challenges.

To help these Telangana people, KCR wanted to bring a comprehensive NRI policy. Therefore, the Chief Minister had asked the officials concerned to study various policies, schemes being implemented in other States with regard to the NRIs there. As part of this exercise, the officials’ team is in Kerala now. (INN)
