GHMC survey to find illiterates to begin tomorrow

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has prepared an action plan for the succesful conduct of its survey to identify illiterate persons in its limits. The survey will be conducted from February 24 (Monday) to March 4.

The GHMC has designated Deputy Commissioners as Nodal Officers at circle level. They will be assisted by POs/DPOs, UCD as Supervisory Officer at circle level and they will be responsible for pooling the manpower resources from the SLFs & SHGs & internal resources too. Ward Secretaries will be drafted as Ward Supervisors to coordinate and to compile the entire data at ward level.

The survey will be conducted considering Corporator division as unit covering all the localities in the division and for this the localities will be classified as Slum / Basthi, Residential Colonies, Apartments, Commercial areas, Gated Communities, Mixed areas, etc.,

Various resources will be pooled for the survey and each enumerator will cover 250 to 300 houses. The collected data will be computerised on the same day.

The Deputy Commissioners will brief the headquarters about the progress of survey every day and ensure that the survey is completed in the stipulated time. The Zonal Commissioners will oversee the entire process. (INN)
