Hyderabad: Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that the Pattana Pragathi Program was the step towards the upliftment of towns and cities of Telangana.
Minister KTR held a review meeting with the Additional Collectors of all districts at MCRHRD Institute in Hyderabad. On completion of the Pattana Pragathi program, the Minister reviewed the works of each district and enquired about the status of works with the additional collectors.
The Minister said that the Pattana Pragathi program has played a major role in bringing development in the towns and cities. The program has helped in identifying civic problems that have been prevailing since long.
Minister instructed the officials to come up with an action plan to resolve the identified problems. He instructed the officials to focus on green plans, sanitation plans, and water audits.
KTR also mentioned that a lot of problems pertaining to sanitation have been addressed during the ten-day program, which has shown great results in a short span.
He stated that the program has played a crucial role in bringing awareness amongst the citizens on the new municipal act.
The Minister instructed the officials to develop model markets, parks, dump yards, public toilets, street vendors zone, nurseries, modern burial grounds, crematoriums, urban lung spaces, open gyms in all the towns and cities.
KTR stated that the Additional Collectors should have complete knowledge about the municipalities which come under their limits and asked them to come up with proper plans to develop the towns and cities. Soon a meeting will be held with all the additional collectors to review the plans.
The Minister thanked all the departments, officials and the citizens who actively took part in the program and made it a huge success. (INN)
