Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Ravindra Gupta called upon the Senior Divisional Operating Managers (Sr. DOMs) and Senior Divisional Commercial Managers (Sr. DCMs) to improve the punctuality of trains and freight loading so as to attain the targets set by Railway Board for the current financial year.
The SCR GM addressed the combined meeting of Operating and Commercial Departments held to review the Division wise performance in passenger and freight loading sectors on Tuesday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad.
N.Madhusudhan Rao, Chief Operations Manager, P.Ganeshwara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager, Principal Head of Departments and Senior Commercial & Traffic Officers of SCR, Sr. DOMs & Sr. DCMs of all the six Divisions also participated in the Conference.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravindra Gupta stressed upon the need to improve earnings both in passenger and freight sectors.
He advised the Commercial Department to intensify Ticket Checking drives, speed up finalization of all the contracts such as parking, catering and other passenger services in co-ordination with Finance & Engineering departments etc.
He also advised to initiate action in providing modular stalls on platforms. He also emphasized upon the need to improve punctuality of trains to improve number of passengers.
The daylong session discussed various issues concerning to loading during first quarter of the current fiscal and strategy for achieving targets in the left over period, running of crack specials and long haul freight trains, proposals for new sidings, parcel earnings, commercial publicity earnings etc. (INN)
