All departments urged to coordinate for the smooth conduct of Haj Camp

Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali has urged all the Departments to coordinate for the smooth departure of Haj Pilgrims from Hyderabad Embarkation Point and conduct of Haj Camp starting from 18th June to 30th June.

He was addressing a coordination meeting of all Departments in connection with the arrangements being made for the Departure and Arrival of Haj Pilgrims from Hyderabad at Haj House, Nampally, Hyderabad today.

Mahmood Ali said that due to the corona pandemic pilgrims could not be sent for Haj Pilgrim during the last two years but this year Saudi Arabian Government has permitted to allow the pilgrims but with limited numbers. As against 7000 Pilgrims permitted last year only 3000 Haj pilgrims have been permitted this year, he said.  This year, pilgrims more than 65 years of age are not permitted to perform Haj by the Saudi Authorities. He also asked the pilgrims not to take any items which are banned by the Saudi Government.

Minorities Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar said that all the facilities including customs clearance, checking of Baggage, provision of currency exchange and other facilities including Food and Accommodation are being provided under one roof i.e. at Haj House for the benefit of the Haj Pilgrims.

Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Mohd Saleem said that Hyderabad has been named as the best Embarkation Point in the entire Country and requested all the Department to co-ordinate and said that with the intensive efforts of all the Departments, the conduct of the Haj Camp could be successful.

A.K.Khan, Advisor to the Government, took detailed stock of various department activities involved in the Haj operations.  He informed that about 3,016 Haj pilgrims inclusive of 825 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh will depart from Hyderabad through eight Saudi Airlines flights.  Each flight will have a capacity of 377 pilgrims.  He asked all the Departments which are connected with the departure of Hal Pilgrims to complete all the required formalities beforehand for smooth conduct of the camp.Andhra Pradesh Haj Committee Chairman Khader Basha, Minority Welfare Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, Haj Committee CEO Shafiullah, Joint Commissioner of Police Ranganath and representatives from Saudi Airlines, GMR, Immigration, Customs, Civil Aviation Security, SBI, RTC, DHMO, GHMC, R&B, Fire Services, Metro Water Works and others also attended the meeting. (INN)
