Rabi-ul-Avval crescent sighted, Milad-un-Nabi on Oct 9

Hyderabad: The Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday celebrations of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) will be held across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on October 9.The Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee, which met under the chairmanship of Moulana Qubool Pasha Shattari announced that the holy month of Rabi-ul-Avval commenced as the crescent was sighted on Tuesday evening. Therefore, the Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated across the two States on October 9 (Sunday). Besides conducting a rally, several organisations including Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Majlis-e-Tameer Millat and others organise massive religious meetings on the occasion. (INN)
