FCI extends deadline for rice procurement

Hyderabad: The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has extended the date of procuring Custom Milled Rice (CMR) of the Kharif produce from Telangana till November 30 this year.

Informing this on Wednesday, Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar said that the deadline was extended due to the proactive measures of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. This move will benefit thousands of farmers of the state. He informed that FCI has agreed to purchase the additional 4 lakh tons of the Boiled Rice from the state farmers.In total, 12 lakh metric tons of boiled rice was procured from state farmers so far, he informed. (INN)
