Hyderabad: The Forest department is using scientific measures for developing the forests and improving the livelihoods of the forest-dependent communities in the state, said Forest and Endowment Minister I Indra Karan Reddy.
He was speaking at the Forest Plus 2.0 organized by USAID and the Central Forest and Environment Department. He launched the Agro Forest Web Portal, Community Best Ecosystem tourism in the program.He explained the activities of the Telangana government for improving the forest cover in the state through the Haritha Haram program and other afforestation measures. He said that groundwater levels have increased because of irrigation projects, Mission Kakatiya, Check Dams and others. He said that Telangana has turned into a green state because of Haritha Haram.
