Hyderabad: State ministers Sabitha Indira Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav launched the works of boys hostel construction in the Osmania University on Saturday.
The total estimated cost of the building is Rs 39.50 crores. The hostel complex would be spread across 2.76 acres or 1,06,292 square feet. The three storey hostel building is expected to be completed in a year and could accommodate 500 students. Currently, there are 24 hostels in the Osmania University campus of which 12 are for men and 12 for women.Since about 70 percent of the students were women, many men hostels were allotted for women recently. In this backdrop a composite hostel building for men was contemplated. (INN)
