Metro Rail would be expanded across ORR: CM

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said that the Metro Rail would be expanded across the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in near future.

He said that the Metro Rail extension would take place irrespective of the central aid. He launched the works of Mindspace- Shamashabad Airport 31 km Metro Rail stretch on Friday. Later, he addressed a public meeting held at Rajendranagar Police Academy on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that Mind-space to RGIA was to be constructed by the state government, HMDA and GMR funds. He said that Hyderabad has been a grand city and had all the facilitiesHe said that Hyderabad got electricity in 1912, way ahead before Chennai was electrified. He said that Hyderabad was a real Cosmopolitan city which encompassed all religions, all castes and people from various parts of the country and the world. He said that it was a matter of pride to inaugurate the Airport connecting Metro Rail works. He congratulated HMRL, GMR and MAUD department on this occasion. (INN)
