Kaleshwaram is a remarkable project by KCR: K Kavitha

Hyderabad: MLC Kavitha said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is a great person who knows how to be humble in every situation. The Chief Minister who built the project that will change the destiny of the state in a short period of time should be called Kaleshwaram Chandrasekhar Rao instead of Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhar Rao, she said.

She participated in irrigation day at New Ambedkar Bhavan in Nizamabad as part of Telangana formation decade celebrations. Speaking on this occasion she said that the central government should be proud of Kaleshwaram because Kaleshwaram is the biggest irrigation project in the world.

The Minister criticized the Congress party for its history of digging canals and looting thousands of crores of rupees. She said that during the tenure of CM KCR, Rs.5,000 crores have been allocated for the irrigation sector of the district. Since there is transparent governance, the progress achieved in each department is being explained for 21 days. She revealed that as a child, she knew how much KCR was distressed by the irrigation conditions of Telangana in the unified state. She said that the Nizamabad district was benefiting the most from the Kaleshwaram project. She said that KCR’s hard work is behind the fact that the ponds are brimming with water even in summer. She said that 1.80 lakh acres are being irrigated through Kaleshwaram in the district. She expressed her anger that it is a shame that the Center has not given national status to such a great project. (INN)
