Harish Rao distributes appointment letters to 1560 ASHA workers

Hyderabad: Health Minister T. Harish Rao participated as the chief guest in the program of handing over appointment documents to 1560 ASHA workers appointed in Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal districts under the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Ministers Mohammed Ali, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mallareddy, MLA Arikepudi Gandhi, medical officials, and ASHA workers participated in the program held at Shilpalkala Vedika.

During the event, Health Minister Harish Rao emphasized the importance of welfare for the underprivileged and acknowledged the remarkable contributions made by doctors and staff, who are regarded as “gods” for those suffering from diseases. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing the best healthcare services to the poor and ensuring their well-being.

Health Minister Harish Rao proudly announced Telangana’s remarkable achievements in healthcare. He highlighted that Telangana is a state where 100% of children are vaccinated, ensuring their well-being. Furthermore, the state has achieved 100% institutional deliveries, enhancing the safety of childbirth experiences.

Since the formation of the state, Telangana has made significant strides in medical health, rising from the 14th position to the 3rd position. In the past, 70% of deliveries occurred in private hospitals, but now 70% of deliveries take place in government hospitals. Minister Harish Rao shared the good news of increased salaries for 27,000 workers in the state and the government’s decision to pay their cell phone bills from this month onwards.

Telangana is leading the way by providing the highest 9900 salary to ASHA workers in the country. Minister Harish Rao criticized the opposition for their baseless claims and divisive politics. He specifically mentioned the salary disparity between Telangana and states governed by Congress and BJP. While Telangana offers a competitive salary package, states like Gujarat and those under Congress and BJP rule provide only INR 4,500 to ASHA workers, highlighting the government’s commitment to the welfare of its employees.

Minister Harish Rao announced that the government is actively working to fulfill the demand for second ANMs and stated that the state offers an additional salary of INR 27,000 for second ANMs, surpassing the remuneration provided in Congress and BJP governed states. He assured that the recruitment of ANMs would prioritize those in need, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to the welfare of healthcare workers.

Highlighting the success of the Basti Dawakhana initiative, Minister Harish Rao mentioned the significant reduction in outpatient (OP) burden at Osmania Hospital (60%) and Gandhi Hospital (56% in general and 72% in the fever hospital). He announced plans to establish three new hospitals dedicated to pregnant women and the opening of a super specialty MCH (Maternal and Child Health) hospital in Gandhi within a week.

Minister Harish Rao emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure and services. He mentioned the upcoming establishment of four new hospitals and the modernization of Osmania Hospital once the court case is concluded. Minister Harish Rao commended the availability of robotic machines at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and expressed his gratitude for the services provided by NIMS doctors.Minister Harish Rao reiterated the government’s dedication to prioritizing the welfare of the people, particularly the underprivileged.
