Harish Rao holds a review with health officials on the rain situation

Hyderabad: The Telangana Health Department has been instructed to be on alert in the wake of heavy rains in the state.

Health Minister Harish Rao held a video conference with officials on Thursday and reviewed the precautions that need to be taken to protect public health. He instructed the district medical officers to be especially alert in the agency areas, which are prone to flooding. He also ordered officials to take action to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases due to the rains.The minister directed that special attention be paid to the health of pregnant women in the agency areas. He advised officials to identify pregnant women who are full months pregnant and to take them to the hospital in advance. Rao also said that the helicopter will be used if necessary to save people. (INN)
