Now RTC bus at your door steps

Hyderabad: Transport Minister M. Mahendar Reddy, along with TSTRC chairman S. Satyanarayana and TRC MD Ramana Rao, inspected the mini-AC buses to be launched by the TRC at the Bus Bhavan here on Friday.

Speaking to the media persons, Mahendar Reddy said that the state government would soon introduce 236 mini-buses procured at a cost of Rs 50 crore.

He said according to new scheme, the passengers could board the mini-buses, named Vajra, from their homes by booking the ticket in advance.

The minister said that the Corporation would run 36 mini-buses on Hyderabad-Nizamabad, 60 buses on Hyderabad-Warangal route on a pilot basis. Of the 236 buses 136 will ply in rural areas, while 100 AC buses will ply on urban routes.

Speaking on the occasion, RTC chairman Satyanarayana said that the Corporation would lease the RTC lands to construct shopping complexes, malls and for other commercial use.

He said that the fare for Hyderabad-Nizamabad journey in Vajra bus would be Rs 350, while it would be Rs 300 for Hyderabad-Warangal route.

He said that the Corporation was aiming at providing better ammonites and safe journey to the commuters. (INN)
