TJAC chief hunger stir a political stunt: Harish Rao

Karimnagar: Irrigation Minister Harish Rao said that the hunger stir undertaken by Telangana JAC chairman Prof Kodandaram was a political stunt fuelled by the Opposition parties.

Speaking to media persons in Karimnagar on Sunday, Harish Rao said that on one hand Prof Kodandaram was protesting against the construction of irrigation projects and on the other he is protesting for the rights of farmers.

He questioned the TJAC chief as to why he protested against the construction of Mallannasagar project if he was serious about the welfare of the farmers.

He said that the TJAC chief was politicizing the various projects undertaken by the government and was acting on the directions of the Congress and the TD.

The minister said that the TJAC chief and BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy were provoking the farmers against the construction of Palamuru project.

The Minister said it was painful to see the professor acting on the directions of the Opposition and was taking a stand against the government working for the welfare of the farmers. (INN)
