Telangana witnessed no change in TRS rule: Prof Ilaiah

Hyderabad: Writer-Academician Prof Kancha Ilaiah said that the State Government cannot realize its dream of achieving Golden Telangana by ignoring the welfare of SC,STs, BCs and minorities who constitute about 92 per cent of the State population.

Prof. Ilaiah, who participated in the CPM’s Mahajan Padayatra in Ranga Reddy district on Thursday, said that the people of the Telangana strove for statehood hoping that statehood would usher in education, employment opportunities besides water and funds share to the state.

However, even after two and half years, there has been no change in the scenario. He alleged that the TRS failed to implement its poll promises and warned that the party would face people’s wrath if it continued its indifferent attitude towards the people.

Speaking on the occasion, CPM secretary T Veerabhadram alleged that TRS government was pursuing anti-people policies which was evident from the fact that the farmers are deprived of loan waiver, even as students are facing difficulty in continuing studies as the government failed to clear their fee reimbursement.

He said that the welfare of marginalized sections has taken a back seat in the state as the government was focusing on diverting welfare funds to contractors. The CPM leader equated KCR’s rule to that of Tughlaq. (INN)
