MANUU elects Shaik Naveed as MEWA President

Maulana Azad National Urdu University Employees Welfare Association (MEWA) elected Shaik Naveed of the Department of Translation as its new president for the second time in a row.

Elections for MEWA were held on October 27, 2016 in the campus, according to Returning Officer Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem.

Persons elected for other posts are: Badavath Bikshapathi  as Vice-President, Wajihus Shams as General Secretary, Dharamjeet Kumar as Joint Secretary, Razzak Shareef as Secretary, Syed Yousuf Razvi as Organizing Secretary and M. A. Nawaz as Treasurer.

Syed Yousuf Razvi had been elected as organizing secretary for the third term in a row. In addition, Mohammed Arif, Syed Ghouse and Khaja Maqtar Ahmed were elected as members of the Association. It is to be noted that  Wajihus Shams, M. A. Nawaz and Mohammed Arif won for the second time.

MANUU vice chancellor Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz and Registrar Dr. Shakeel Ahmad congratulated the newly elected office bearers of MEWA.

Co-opted members Dr S. Abdul Taha and Jameel Ahmad actively assisted in conducting the elections, the Gachibowli-based university said.
