Efforts to control pollution underway: Jogu Ramanna

Hyderabad: Minister for Forest and Environment Jogu Ramanna on Tuesday said that the state government was taking up all measures to prevent a Delhi like pollution situation arising in Hyderabad or any other place in the state.

Speaking at a review meeting with the officials of his department, the minister said that efforts were on to contain pollution levels in the capital city and other places to make the state the pollution free one.

The minister said that the vehicles were a major cause of the air pollution and added that efforts would be made to convert buses in the RTC fleet to CNG buses.

He said that the TSTRC had paid a fund of Rs 4 Crore to the Pollution Control Board and added that efforts would be made to make the air quality a good one. (INN)
