KTR Presses for Speedy Implementation of Minority Welfare Schemes

Telangana’s Minister for Panchayat Raj and IT, K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) said that minority welfare schemes in the state would be implemented speedily.

In a review meeting on December 4 with city, minorities and GHMC officials, Mr. KTR directed the officials to speed up the implementation of schemes such as foreign education support, among others.

He also specifically instructed officials to start releasing funds to the 210 selected minority candidates as part of foreign education support scheme. Applications for next academic year aspirants must also start, he said.

In addition, he sought proposals from the officials to impart training to the minority students through Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) in various domains.

MIM floor leader in Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, Minority Welfare special secretary Syed Omer Jaleel, GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, and other officials were present in the meeting.

KTR asked the officials to take necessary steps for conducting competitive exams in Urdu. Also, he directed them to release funds under ‘Shaadi Mubarak’ scheme soon.

While reiterating TRS Government’s commitment for the welfare of minorities, he said the schemes would be implemented on par with SC-ST schemes as envisioned by Chief Minister KCR.

He also assured participants of the meeting to resolve the issues pertaining to the Chandrayangutta constituency as early as possible.
