Modi insulting Nehru-Gandhi family, says Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad: TPCC leaders on Monday paid tributes to first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary by garlanding his statue at Abids in Hyderabad.

The Congress leaders, after paying tributes to Pandit Nehru, staged a protest against the Modi government saying that it was trying to demean Nehru.

Speaking on the occasion, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Shabbir Ali slammed the Modi government accusing it of showing disrespect to late Prime Minister Pandit Nehru.

He said that there was no photo of Pandit Nehru in the government advertisements on his birth anniversary.

He said that it was unfortunate that the BJP Government was trying to sideline the role of Nehru who played a vital role in the formation of modern India.

He said that the BJP leaders always took opportunity to blame the Nehru-Gandhi family which played a key role in transforming India in all sectors.

He warned the Modi government to mend his ways saying that showing disrespect to Nehru-Gandhi family, which served the nation in different roles, would not be tolerated.
