40K additional students in government colleges: Kadiyam

Hyderabad: Lamenting that the previous government ignored higher education in Telangana, Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari said that the TRS government was making efforts to revive the lost glory of state in higher education.

Speaking at the conference of principals of government junior colleges in the state at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium here on Wednesday, Kadiyam Srihari said that during last decade numerous colleges were closed due to negligence by the successive state governments.

He said that after the TRS government came into power, efforts are on to provide quality infrastructure in the state run colleges.

He said that this academic year an additional 40,000 students got admission in government junior colleges and this shows the people’s trust in the government’s efforts to strengthen collegiate education.

He said that the government would soon fill up the vacancies under teaching and non-teaching staff. He directed the college principals to ensure full attendance of students and warned of severe action against any discrepancies in the college administration. (INN)
