Hyderabad: Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was aiming at a corruption free society and was taking numerous steps in this direction.
Speaking at the launch of WOW Hyderabad programme as part of the Swachh Hyderabad initiative at the LB Stadium, the Union minister said that the Prime Minister was stressing on three issues to bring about a change- reform, perform and transform and added that Swachh Bharat initiative was part of that process.
He said that the clean drive initiative has now transformed into a people’s movement and lauded the state government’s efforts to promote the same.
He urged the people to be part of the clean drive and said each person is a ‘Swaccha Grahi’, a volunteer of cleanliness.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K Tarakarama Rao said that the Wellbeing out of Waste (WOW) Hyderabad initiative was to promote segregation of dry and wet waste at households.
The initiative was launched in associated with ITC, which would establish 100 dry resource collection centers in the city as part of its CSR initiative.
