Govt employees, teachers feel cheated by KCR: Uttam

Suryapet: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of cheating the employees and teachers by not clearing their PRC dues.

Speaking to media persons in Suryapet district on Thursday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Chief Minister has put the issue of PRC arrears in back burner. He said that the TRS Government was not taking the problems of employees, especially teachers, seriously.

He said that the State Government had announced 43% fitment allowance in February 2015. It was promised to implement the revised salaries from June 2014. However, the Chief Minister showed no seriousness in clearing nearly Rs. 5,000 Crore dues towards 10th Pay Revision Commission arrears to nearly three lakh employees and 1.80 lakh pensioners.

Stating that employees had played a major role during Telangana agitation, Uttam Kumar Reddy warned the Chief Minister against delaying the clearance of arrears.

Further, the TPCC chief said that the Cashless Health Cards scheme for Telangana employees and teachers has remained a non-starter. He said he had visited the family members of late Sri Praveen Reddy, a government teacher, in Nereducherla village on Thursday evening.

Sri Praveen Reddy died three days ago due to a complicated heart disease. Despite being a government teacher, Praveen Reddy had no financial resources to treat his heart ailment. He said Praveen Reddy’s life could have been saved if the State Government would have implemented the Health Card scheme.

He said there several other cases where employees and teachers are unable to bear the cost of treatment.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Chief Minister’s promises were making headlines with catchy phrases. “KCR is trying to portray himself as a kind Chief Minister by making various announcements.

But in terms of implementation, all his announcements are proving to be hollow and fake. He must stop playing with the sentiments of employees and teachers,” he said.

He said that the Congress party would fight for the cause of employees and teachers and would launch a massive agitation if the TRS Government fails to hounour its own promises.

Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy participated in the Urs celebration of Sufi Saint Hazrat Syed Mohiuddin (alias Shaheed and Jan Pahad Saidulu) at Janpahad Dargah in Palkaveedu mandal of Suryapet district. He was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the priests who did his “Dastar Bandi”. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he had prayed for the growth and development of Telangana and welfare of its people. (INN)
