Lakshman asks BJP cadre to obstruct 12% Muslim quota

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president Dr. K. Lakshman on Thursday directed the party cadre to strongly oppose 12% quota in jobs and education for Muslims being promised by TRS Government.

Speaking after hosting national flag at State BJP Headquarters at Nampally on the occasion 68th Republic Day, the BJP leader said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was proposing to give 12% reservation to Muslims on the basis of religion. He said that the proposal was totally unconstitutional.

He said Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, while drafting the Constitution, had recommended reservation only for socially and economically backward SCs and STs. However, he said that the TRS Government was planning to give 12% Muslim quota to pursue vote bank politics.

Lakshman also listed out various failures of TRS Government and accused the Chief Minister of misleading the people by not implementing the poll promises. (INN)
