Outsourced nurses hold protest on Gandhi Hospital’s 10th floor

Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed when some outsourced nurses climbed atop 10th floor of Gandhi Hospital on Saturday demanding regularisation of their services.

As many as 220 nurses are working in Gandhi Hospital for the last several years on outsourcing basis. They had begun their agitation four days ago.

Intensifying their protest on Saturday, some nurses went to the 10th floor of hospital building and threatened to commit suicide if the management fails to regularise their services. They ended their protest after the management assured them of taking up their issue with the State Government.

Meanwhile, speaking to media persons, the agitating nurses said that about one year ago Health Minister Dr. Lakshma Reddy had promised to regularise their services.

They said that the minister has failed to honour his promise even after one year. They said they were forced to work on meagre salaries. (INN)
