IIC, SIO Hyderabad Plant Trees to Mark Birth Anniversary of Prophet Muhammad

Islamic Information Centre (IIC) and Hyderabad chapter of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) jointly organized a plantation drive in Hyderabad to mark birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Students of Jamia Darul Huda and Rahmania schools participated in the drive. On December 23, students of Jamia Darul Huda planted trees in the school campus in Pahadi Shareef, Hyderabad.

Through this event, the organizers wanted to create awareness about various aspects of life including environment and plantation among the masses based on teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

The Prophet (pbuh) was a great environmentalist. His teachings and life events are full of various instances where he has exclusively exhorted people to protect the environment and to save trees and water bodies. He discouraged cutting the trees and exhorted to plant more trees as they spread the beauty of nature on earth.

The famous Hadeeth of Prophet goes as below: “If a believer plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him.” [Al Bukhari]

In addition, the organizers have planned for an online campaing “Inspired by Muhammad (PBUH)” on Twitter today. Its chief organizer Mr. Anas Razvi requested people to participate in the constructive activities to counter the hate propaganda from the anti-social elements.

“SIO and IIC involve in many such social activities for the benefit of the society,” Mr. Razvi noted. “IIC serves as a one stop solution for all Islam related queries and concerns. People can call at toll free number 1800 2000 787 to clear doubts about Islam in English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada or Marathi.”
