Kavitha appeals for unity among Telugu people

Vijayawada: TRS MP K. Kavitha, who was in Amravati to attend Women Parliamentarian Conference, performed special prayers at Kanaka Durga Temple on Friday. She was accorded a ceremonial welcome by Temple’s Executive Officer Surya Kumari.

Speaking to media persons later, Kavitha said despite bifurcation of State, there were no differences between the Telugu speaking people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

She said there were no contentious issues between the two Telugu States and minor differences would be resolved through dialogue. She appealed to the people of both the States to remain united.

Replying to a question, Kavitha said she strongly supports the demand for granting Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. She said the SCS promise was made by the Central Government at the time of bifurcation and it should be honoured. (INN)
