Governor holds meeting with TS, AP ministers

Hyderabad, March 26 : Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan held a meeting with the ministers and officials of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States at Raj Bhavan on Sunday to discuss issues pertaining to institutions under 9th and 10th Schedule of AP Reorganisation Act.

While ministers T. Harish and Jagadish Reddy and Advisor to Government G. Vivek represented Telangana State, Ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and K. Acham Naidu and Government Chief Whip K. Srinivasulu represented Andhra Pradesh. During the discussions, the leaders also discussed the distribution of water among two Telugu States.

According to sources, Telangana representatives urged the Governor to persuade AP to handover buildings allotted in the Secretariat and Assembly. Similarly, the TS wanted AP Government to return the possession of other buildings which are currently not in use.

Acham Naidu said that the final decision in this regard would be taken only after consulting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The issue of bifurcation of employees was also discussed in the meeting.

The representatives of both the States would meet again on April 17 to discuss and resolve issues concerning Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
