KTR attends to complaints of industrial pollution in Jeedimetla

Hyderabad: Following complaints by citizens about the pollution around Jeedimetla Industrial Area, Minister K Tarakarama Rao conducted surprise inspections in the industrial area of Jeedimetla on Saturday morning.

During his inspection, the Minister visited various industrial plants. He also ordered the officials to take strong action against the industries which are illegally dumping the wastage.

He asked the industries to coordinate with the GHMC officials and plan for STP in the industrial area, He also visited the open naalas which are dumping wastage illegally.

He instructed the GHMC and Pollution Control Board to work together and conduct raids on such industries which are not adhering to the norms.

The Minister also met the local residents and enquired about the grievances they are facing the in area. He assured the residents that highly pollutant industries would be relocated outside Outer Ring Road in the near future. “We recognise and respect that these industries are providing employment.

But we won’t compromise on the pollution hazards and we’ve asked the PCB to take up special drive,” he told media persons. (INN)
