Sarve asks Harish Rao to revolt against KCR

Hyderabad: Former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana on Thursday reiterated his appeal to Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao to revolt against Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to ‘protect the interest of people of Telangana’.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Sarve described Harish Rao as a dynamic, talented and hardworking leader. He said it was Harish Rao who took actively part in Telangana movement while K. Tarakarama Rao and Kavitha were studying in the US.

However, he said after formation of Telangana State, Harish Rao was pushed aside with KTR and Kavitha taking the centrestage. He said Harish Rao was more active than KCR during Telangana movement. Therefore, he said it was high time that Harish Rao take control of both TRS and government in the interest of Telangana and its people.

Stating that the Congress party was willing to extend complete support to Harish Rao, Sarve said it was ‘now or never’ situation for him to establish his supremacy.

He said that the Congress party would return to power in 2019 elections and Harish Rao would never get an opportunity to prove his leadership skills in future.

He also clarified that he was not provoking Harish Rao for a revolt. He said he was only exposing the ongoing differences within the KCR family. (INN)
