Amaravati: South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar at AP Secretariat in Amaravati on Monday.
The General Manager held discussion on the progress of various ongoing Railway Projects in Andhra Pradesh including New Line Projects, Doubling/Tripling of existing lines and development of Vijayawada Railway Station.
Road Over Bridge (ROB) / Road Under Bridge (RUB) project works in AP State were also reviewed in detail. The General Manager was thankful to the Govt. of AP for extending its co-operation to projects concerning development of rail network in the newly formed State.
He also requested the AP Govt. to help in issues concerning land acquisition for rail developmental works including for the development of Tirupati Railway station.
Earlier, the General Manager inspected Electric Traction Training Centre (ETTC), Satyanarayanapuram, Vijayawada and inaugurated the State of art ‘Loco Simulator’ at ETTC which is used for training of Loco Pilots and Asst. Loco Pilots. Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav released a manual concerning the Loco Train Driving Simulator.
He also laid foundation stone for augmenting the Trainee’s Hostel facilities at the ETTC. The General Manager also inspected Electric Loco Shed, Vijayawada and advised completion of the infrastructural augmentation works here on priority.
Vinod Kumar Yadav also conducted a detailed review meeting with all the branch officers of Vijayawada Division at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Office.
The General Manager reviewed aspects related to Safety, Punctuality, progress of Passenger Amenity works and Freight Loading performance of the Division.
Addressing the officials, he stressed that these priority areas should meet total attention so that the performance of SCR scales to the best levels.
