Dy CM threatens to de-recognise schools involved in drugs supply

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari warned that the Telangana Government would de-recognise the schools whose management is found guilty of having nexus with drugs mafia.

Addressing a review meeting with DEOs and other senior officials of education department on Thursday, the Deputy CM said that the supply of drugs in education institutions was highly condemnable.

He said that the managements and parents must keep a strict vigil on their children to prevent them from getting addicted to drugs and other bad habits.

He also directed the officials of education department to keep an eye on such activities. He said this was a highly sensitive issue.

The Deputy CM said that the entire education department could not be blamed if drugs are supplied in one or two institutions. However, he said all precautionary measures to prevent recurrence of such instances in future.

He said that the school and college managements would not only face criminal charges, but their institutions would also be de-recognised. (INN)
