KCR dividing society on caste-basis: Komatireddy

Hyderabad: Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkatreddy has accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of dividing the Telangana society on the basis of caste for political gains.

Addressing a press conference at Congress Legislature Party office on Wednesday, Komatireddy said that the Chief Minister has failed to fulfill election promises even after three years. However, in view of next elections, KCR is trying to divide the entire society on the basis of cases.

He said that the distribution of sops among various profession-based castes was only aimed at gaining political mileage by creating a divide within the society.

Komatireddy alleged that the Chief Minister has also failed to fulfill the promise of supplying safe drinking water to the flourisis affected Nalgonda district. He said that the government has failed to bring water from Krishna River to Uday Samadram in Nalgonda.

The Congress leader said he had met AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to seek permission to conduct padayatra across the State to highlight the problems being faced by the people. He said he would launch the padayatra after getting nod from the Congress High Command. (INN)
