SIO conducts Mock Assembly – Education Budget Program in OU

Hyderabad: Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO Hyderabad) in collaboration with Department of Education, Osmania University, conducted
a mock assembly session at ICSSR Hall in Main Library of Osmania University on Monday.

As many as 12 students from the colleges of the city including Osmania University itself participated in the program and presented their idea of Budget and come up with ideas to solve the issues concerning the education system.

Students emphasized and urged government to allocate more budget to Higher Education, proper implementation of existing schemes, subsidizing education for rural population and introducing Educational cess in various sectors to increase the overall budget allocated to education.

Professor J.L.N Rao, Dept. of political Science and Prof. Masood Ahmed, Former President Association of Indian Management Schools, students from various departments of the university were also present, noted a press release from SIO.

Talha Faiyazuddin, city president, SIO Hyderabad asserted the role of students in the participatory democracy and urged students community to continue contributing to the society at large.

The program was part of SIO’s long term policy of ceating healthy Campus Activism with which it expected students to play their role as an active citizen and voice of reason and intellect.

SIO plans to submit the presented papers to government before the State Budget presentation in March, according to the press note.
