Dy CM Mehmood Ali reviews Ramzan arrangements in Telangana

Hyderabad, May 26 (INN): Deputy Chief Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Thursday directed the officials to make elaborate arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan which is likely to begin on June 6.

Speaking to media person after the meeting, held at the State Secretariat, the Deputy CM informed that Rs. 50 lakh would be given for each district for Ramzan arrangements which includes repair of mosques and other arrangements.

He said all District Collectors have been asked to convene meetings at their levels to finalise the arrangements. He said that the power utilities have been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the month of Ramzan.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has been asked to supply adequate water to mosque in view of high consumption during Ramzan.

The Deputy CM said additional precautions would be taken in view of recent heavy rains.

BJP Criticizes TRS over Ramazan

Bharatiya Janata Party has alleged that the TRS Government was not serious on making best arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan.

Speaking to media persons after participating in the review meeting held at the State Secretariat on Thursday, BJP MLA G. Kishan Reddy said if the TRS Government was serious on making better arrangements for Ramzan, then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao himself should have chaired the meeting. He also condemned the absence of several key officials in the crucial meeting.

Another BJP MLA Chintala Ramchander Reddy condemned State Government for not accepting his demand for payment of Rs. 10,000 to each Imam who recited Holy Quran during the month of holy Ramzan.

He said that the State Government pays Rs. 10,000 to each pujari who performs special pooja on auspicious occasions. Therefore, the government should extend the same benefit to all Imams across the State.
