New Delhi: Polling for election of 119-member Telangana State Legislative Assembly will be held in a single phase on December 7 and the results would be declared on December 11.
The election schedule for Telangana, along with schduled for Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram Assembly elections, was announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the national capital on Saturday.
Chief Election Commissioner OP Rawat informed that the election notification with regard to Telangana would be released on November 12. The last date for receiving nominations will be November 19, and the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on November 20 while the last date for withdrawal of nominations will be November 22.
The Model Code of Conduct is already in implementation in Telangana since the dissolution of Assembly on September 6.
Replying to a query, the CEC said that the case pending in the High Court was related to electoral rolls and there was sufficient time to carry out corrections in the voters’ list.
He said all details relating to voters list would be submitted to the Court. The Commission has decided to publish the final electoral rolls on October 12.
