MANUU students demand apology and resignation of Chancellor Firoz Bakht

Students community of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) boycotted classes today to protest against the University chancellor Firoz Bakht Ahmed for his imprudent accusations against the students.

Coming out in large numbers near Admin Building, the students refuted the charges leveled against them by the Chancellor.

“The annual hostel dinner actually started with mourning for the soldiers who were martyred in Pulwama last week,” reiterated a group of students protesting in the campus.

Students Islamic Organization (SIO) activist Umar Farooq said during the protest that the MANUU students would not tolerate such provocations from the Chancellor.

Campus Front of India (CFI) activist Saifur Rahman condemned the anti-national remark of the Chancellor.

Attaullah Niazi, former president of student union, also joined the protest condemning the vilifying remark of the Chancellor. Earlier, he wrote an open letter to Firoz Bakht.

The student community, along with the MANUU chapters of SIO, CFI and MANUU Student Union demanded apology and resignation of the Chancellor.

They presented a memorandum to the Registrar.
