First flight of Haj pilgrims to depart on June 20

Hyderabad: The first flight of carrying 373 Haj pilgrims from Telangana State will depart from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in the early hours of June 20.

Of 373 pilgrims, as many as 214 are from Hyderabad, 71 from Medchal, 44 from Nalgonda, 16 from Medak, 16 from Siddipet, and 12 from Yadadri Bhongir and two each from Sangareddy and Gadwal districts. Telangana State Haj Committee Chairman Mohammed Saleem and other officials will accord a warm send-off to the Haj pilgrims at 5:55 AM on June 20.

Elaborate arrangements have been made at the Haj Camp at Haj House, Nampally where the pilgrims departing from the first flight arrived on Saturday morning. The RT-PCR test of all the pilgrims has been conducted and all of them were found negative for Covid-19.According to Wakf Board Chairman, the Haj pilgrims would board the flight from the international terminal instead of the Haj terminal. Therefore, their immigration and customs clearance would be completed in the Haj House itself. (INN)
