International award for Budhavanam

Hyderabad: Budhavanam Project of Nagarjunasagar has achieved an international award. 

The Association of Buddhist Tour Operators gives this Tourism Mitra award every year. The award was announced in the Buddhist Conclave held at Salt Lake in Kolkata. Budhavanam special officer Mallepally Lakshmaiah received the award from Korea-India Friendship Association Chairman Bhikshu Dammdeepa.

High-ranking functionaries of Buddhist associations, Buddhist Tourist Management secretary Dr Kalesh Kumar and others appreciated the Budhavanam project and termed it the biggest such project in entire Asia.

Various components of Budhavanam including Buddhist Culture, Buddhist Sculpture and others also won accolades. Mallepally Laxmaiah and other officials from Budhavanam gave a PowerPoint presentation in the Buddhist conclave on this occasion which was also appreciated. (INN)
