India’s national government news channel DD News surprised many internet users on Twitter when it posted a gif image praising RSS ideologue Veer Savarkar as “Freedom Fighter”.
In this unprecedented move on its official Twitter handle, DD News showered all praises on Veer Sawarkar when it tweeted: “70YearsOfIndependence Veer Savarkar – a brave freedom fighter who first demanded ‘Poorna Swaraj’”.
The gif image along with the above tweet carries multiple captions including this “Savarkar wrote book ‘Indian War of Independence, 1857’” and “It was Savarkar who first demanded ‘Purna Swaraj’”.
