Telangana braces for more heavy rains

Hyderabad: The extreme low pressure over the northwest Bay of Bengal is continuing to bring heavy rains to Telangana. The Meteorological Department has forecast more heavy to very heavy rains on Thursday and Friday, with wind speeds of up to 40-50 km/h.

In the past two days, heavy rains have caused widespread flooding and disruption in many parts of the state. In North Telangana, streams and ponds have overflowed, and several roads have been washed away. In Nizamabad and Warangal districts, life has come to a standstill due to the rains.

The government has announced a holiday for all educational institutions in the state on Wednesday and Thursday. The Orange Alert has been issued for 15 districts, and the Yellow Alert for 10 districts.The public has been advised to be cautious and take necessary precautions during this period of heavy rains. (INN)
