Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K Tarakarama Rao launched the distribution of the second phase of double-bedroom houses in Dundigal, Kutbullapur constituency on Thursday.
On this occasion, KTR said that the distribution of 30,000 houses out of one lakh double-bedroom houses built in Hyderabad will be completed with this. He also assured that the remaining 70,000 double-bedroom houses will be given to the poor in the next month and a half in a very transparent manner.
The minister said that the government has spent Rs. 10 lakh per house to build 4000 houses in Dundigal. The total cost of the one lakh houses built in Hyderabad is Rs. 9,718 crore. The market value of these houses is between Rs. 50,000-60,000 crore. The KCR government is putting these assets in the hands of the poor, he said.
Minister KTR also said that the government has allotted the houses in a transparent manner without having to pay a single rupee bribe. He advised people not to give a single penny to anyone for double-bedroom houses. Today’s beneficiaries include 470 disabled people, 1,923 SCs, 655 STs and 8652 others.
He also challenged the leaders who criticize the government for showing such wonderful double-bedroom houses anywhere in one state in 27 other states of India. He asked if there is any government headed by Congress or BJP that has given double-bedroom houses with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, one hall and one kitchen in 560 square feet.
Minister KTR said that the standard of living has improved only after the coming of this government. Only under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, justice will be done for the poor. He said that it is the government’s responsibility to provide houses to all the deserving people. He assured that he will work hard to give them all in the future.The minister also said that the government is working on bringing new industries to Dundigal. He said that the government will definitely change the shape of this area. (INN)
