TNGO Hyderabad district hosts 9th Sports Meet

Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated the 9th Sports Meet organized by the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association (TNGO) Hyderabad District Branch on Thursday.

In his address, the Minister underlined the importance of sports as a form of mental refreshment for government employees, who often face demanding work pressures.

“The TNGO community has played a crucial role in the development of Telangana,” the Minister acknowledged. He commended the association’s 77-year journey in advocating for employee rights and promoting their well-being. He emphasized the importance of regular physical activity and participation in sports to maintain physical fitness, ultimately contributing to better overall performance.

Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetti and TNGOs District President President Mujeeb Hussaini announced the launch of the “Yettam Sadanand Knockout Cricket Tournament” as part of the 9th Sportsmeet. This year’s event marks the ninth edition of the knockout matches organized under the TNGO banner. The tournament will culminate in exciting semi-final and final matches to be held at Lal Bahadur Stadium on February 10th and 11th.

Adding a touch of camaraderie, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Collector Anudeep Durishetti joined the employees in a friendly cricket match, further fueling the festive spirit of the Sports meet. (INN)
