Hyderabad: The Union Ministry of Higher Education has appointed senior journalist M.A. Sattar as a member of the new body for the National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL).
M.A. Sattar, the Chief Editor of the Hyderabad-based Urdu daily Desh Ka Sahara, is the sole representative from South India. His appointment is for a tenure of three years.
The Chairman of the Council is Union Minister of Education Dharmender Pradhan.M.A. Sattar thanked Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for providing him with this opportunity. He assured that he would take every possible step to promote and propagate the Urdu language at national and international levels. (INN)
