TS DGP praises staff for Pushkaralu arrangements

Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma has appreciated the efforts made by the policemen in making Krishna Pushkaralu a great success.

The DGP has distributed the cash rewards and Appreciation certificates in his office today to 103 policemen, including 17 IPS officers, who made their efforts for the success of the event held from 12th to 23rd August.

At a colourful function held in the conference hall of the DGP office today, the DGP said that the Krishna was not like Godavari River which flows in a wider range.

Krishna is a river which flows heavily in a narrow stretch with high possibilities of occurrence of accidents. He said these details were explained to the policemen deployed on duty. “I personally visited three times to most of the Ghats and identified the precautionary measures to be attended.

The steps taken by the two District Superintendents of Police Prakash Reddy and Rema Rajeshwari are highly appreciable,” said the DGP.

Anurag Sharma also said that the crowd management was different from handling Law and Order. Here policemen were required to manage crowd with humility and kindness.

Handling flow of 3.01 crores pilgrims to Krishna Pushkaralu in 12 days was a tough job for the policemen. But their hard work and coordination with other departments has helped the police department in managing the entire festival without any incident,” he said.

Several senior police officials were also present on the occasion. (INN)
